Ad vitam paramus, “We are preparing for life”. Specifically, we are preparing children for Christian life in the 21st Century. At Grace Academy, our focus is equipping the whole child for life; the life they will inherit.

Our mission at Grace Academy is founded upon 5 Pillars:

I. Provide a Christ centered environment resulting in Christian character in all aspects of life in the children we serve.
II. Promote academic excellence.
III. Create differentiated and customized learning paths for all students.
IV. Teach self discipline.
V. Prepare students for the 21st century world they will inherit.

Because our class sizes are capped at 15 students, our teachers are able to customize the learning paths for their students in mathematics, reading, and writing. This ongoing process are data-driven conversations with the teacher, student, parent(s), and administration. The results are children accelerating in their area(s) of strength and is some cases, keeping students on grade level in an area which may be more challenging.

In early childhood development, much of learned behavior is measured by a teacher’s observation. However, as a child develops, thesubjectivity should lead to more data driven objectivity. As our students learn to read, we begin using a Lexile score to measure reading levels. The data is used to drive decisions both parents and teachers make around choosing reading materials.

Begin with the end in mind…the research in the job market in the next 10 years, forecast workers will need to have a strong foundation in applied mathematics, science, technology tools, collaboration, and both written and verbal communication skills. They will need to be self-motivated, independent learners who have the ability to adapt to change and problem solve in the workplace daily.

At all levels, 21st century skills will be infused into the curriculum:

Learning and Innovation Skill
Information, Media and Technology Skills
Life and Career Skills

Students will utilize both MAC and PC platforms as well as iPads, mini iPads, and personal eBook readers. Students will be familiar with the latest MAC, PC, and cloud networking operating systems. Access to the Internet will be highly secured, controlled, and monitored.

If you desire to be actively engaged in your child(s) learning, Grace Academy may be the right place for you.

Christian Dickinson is the Director and Acting Principal of Grace Academy. He is responsible for the the daily operation of the school. As a leader and administrator in both traditional and virtual education, Christian holds a wealth of knowledge and familiarity related to collecting and analyzing data to measure student achievement. His vast history of leadership experience in both the public and private sectors makes his background not only unique, but well-rounded.

Christian invested 20 years in public education in the State of Florida. A former high and middle school Principal, Assistant Principal, IT Administrator, Dean of Students, mathematics teacher, athletic coach, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes Sponsor, his roots are firmly planted in the educational arena. In the summer of 2010, Christian began preparations to launch Grace Academy 21 for the summer of 2011.

The concept behind Grace Academy 21 was to take the 30-year history of Grace Academy and supplement it with 21st Century learning. At the very of heart of his philosophy is Stephen Covey’s first habit of “…Highly Effective People”…”begin with the end in mind”. Why do we send our children to school? To learn? To be educated? To learn about God? To get a high school diploma? To get a college diploma? To ultimately get a job? A career?
The answers to these questions and the science behind “how” and “why” students learn is what drives decisions at Grace Academy.

Christian holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Central Florida and Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. Christian has three children who attend Grace Academy: Caleb David (8th), Amelia Grace (5th), and Abigayle (Abby) Faith (2nd).

• We believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired, inerrant Word of God; the complete revelation to mankind as the final authority of Christian faith and living.
• We believe in the unity and equality of the Trinity; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
• We believe in the deity, incarnation, virgin birth, sinless life, bodily resurrection and ascension of the Lord Jesus Christ.
• We believe in the person and power of Satan, the enemy of God and all believers, who wages spiritual war against God, and who will ultimately spend eternity in Hell.• We believe in the finished work of Christ at Calvary as the object of our faith by God’s grace for salvation.
• We believe the Holy Spirit serves to glorify Christ by saving souls and indwelling believers at the moment of regeneration.
• We believe in the creation of man by God, the total depravity of mankind through willful rebellion, and the separation from God by our sins.
• We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, the saved to everlasting life, and the unsaved to everlasting punishment.
